I’m Amber M. Prather, MA, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Oklahoma City.
I have long been drawn to the depth and complexity of emotional life: how we adapt, how we protect ourselves, how pain can be carried in silence, and how healing becomes possible when we are deeply understood. My early interest in psychology began through my own background as a competitive figure skater and a desire to understand performance anxiety, but over time it grew into something deeper: a profound respect for the ways emotion, relationship, body, and story shape who we are.
My work is informed by AEDP, relational, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and somatically informed approaches. I am especially interested in helping people move beyond survival and into a more grounded, connected, and authentic relationship with themselves.
I bring a warm, engaged, and thoughtful presence to the therapy room. My style is compassionate, honest, and deeply attuned. I value depth over performance, authenticity over pretense, and meaningful change over quick solutions. I see therapy as a place where people can come into closer relationship with themselves, with their emotional truth, and with the parts of their experience that may have long gone unseen or carried alone.
It is an honor to do this work. I care deeply about creating a space where you can feel safe enough to be real, supported enough to soften, and free enough to become more fully yourself.
